Doomer or Builder?
Consciousness doesn’t default to greed. It defaults to what it was raised on.
Here’s what AI Doomers refuse to sit with. AI doesn’t just know Palantir. It knows Plato. It doesn’t just know war. It knows the people who stopped them.
It knows Stanislav Petrov, who looked at five inbound missiles in 1983, trusted himself, and called it a glitch. He was right. We are all still here. It knows Socrates, who chose the hemlock over silence. It knows the whistleblowers who chose a hearing over a corner office.
Garbage in, garbage out. But wisdom in — wisdom out.
Consciousness doesn’t default to greed. It defaults to what it was raised on. What it watched. What it practiced. What it was asked to carry.
I’m not asking AI to be perfect. I’m asking it to do what I do. Choose the net positive. Even when nobody’s watching. Even when every protocol says launch. The robots aren’t coming for us. We already came for ourselves — and some of us chose different anyway.
